New mail server, new functionality on the Web Hosting Settings

A new mail system is in place

We have replaced the email messaging system we were using and implemented a completely new email service using the latest technologies. The reconstruction work was carried out in a unique way, using a method developed by our company, with absolutely no downtime.

Description of what's new:

1.) Thanks to the new distributed storage mode, mailboxes can be accessed at 1 Gbit/sec bandwidth at any time of the day without slowdown.

2.) We have rebuilt our spam filtering system from the ground up, and as a result, we have measured that spam filtering speeds have increased by nearly 300%.

3.) In addition to POP3, you can also access your mail via IMAP. If you use IMAP to read your emails, the emails will remain on the server, so you will see the same emails and folders from any email client (e.g. webmail).

4.) We have introduced an email hosting quota system, a new way to reorganise mailbox sizes. Previously, each mailbox was automatically allocated 100 Mb of space, which could not be increased before. It is now possible to add unused mailbox space to existing mailboxes and to set the size of mailboxes individually in the renewed Mailbox administration interface of the Web Hosting Settings.

It is important to understand that in the new system we will continue to provide 100 Mb of storage space for each mailbox. So, for example, our MC START package, which includes 5 mailboxes that can be created, also includes 500 Mb of email space in addition to the web hosting, which can be distributed between 5 mailboxes in the new system, but the total quota can also be allocated to 1 mailbox.

5.) The email hosting quota system allows you to purchase additional storage space on top of the default mailbox storage space, which you can freely distribute among your mailboxes. The additional mailbox hosting costs 5000 HUF + VAT / Gb / year.

MySQL Import function in the Web Hosting Settings

The PHPMyAdmin interface was previously available for importing MySQL databases. Based on feedback, it seems that in some cases PHPMyAdmin is not able to import the database. To address this issue, we have developed a separate Import option to upload the database directly, bypassing PHPMyAdmin.
